Food Pantry Support

Garden of Health Inc. partners with food pantries to deliver special dietary foods where people in need already interact. Families and individuals can go to any of our partner food pantries and know they will find food that is healthy and safe for them to eat.

We focus first on education and then fulfilling the needs of each individual food pantry. Through education, we help sort and setup a dedicated space for allergen-friendly foods so volunteers and staff can maintain proper distribution.

Our food bank makes regular deliveries to over 35 food pantry partners. Customization is key. Each pantry's needs are different. For example, one may see a lot of diabetics, while another may see a large population of kids with nut allergies. We take all of these needs into account when shopping and packing our deliveries.

Garden of Hope

In 2019 we broke ground on our one-acre Garden of Hope, located in Harleysville, PA. All produce harvested by volunteers is distributed to food pantries and community programs for those in need.

We plant seasonal vegetables from spring through fall. Volunteers are at the heart of our operations, as we have no paid staff.

Garden Education Program

Part of our mission is to teach low income families how to grow their own organic produce. Our garden initiative started in May of 2015, when we were given access to a garden plot at Zion Mennonite Church in Souderton, with eight traditional beds. We had four families participate. In 2016 we expanded our efforts space we were given at Trinity United Church of Christ. From there we have multiplied as word spread about our program and we have planted over 25 gardens for community members.

Weekend Meal Programs

For seniors and veterans in our area who are homeless or food insecure, the weekends are a tough time when many pantries are closed - leaving them without access to food.

Our program provides six nutritious meals with shelf stable products and produce per weekend.

Free Food Pickup Events

Stemming from the increased need due to the pandemic, we held four free food pickup events in 2020. Each event provides free food pickups for anyone in need, no questions asked. Each distribution includes fresh produce and gluten-free food products.
